ADULT PROGRAM
For professionals or beginners, we have something for you.
THE ADULT PROGRAM
The Adult classes at The Performing Arts Center are open to any dancer starting from 16 years old. As with all of our classes and each artist put in our care, our collective desire is to not only conduct a superb class but, by putting the student first, both challenge and nurture each artist as they seek to develop all of their potential. As we have the tremendous fortune to have a staff of working professional Dancers and Director/Choreographers, we pledge that for any artist who is serious about their craft, we will do all we can to insure that each takes the next step on their artistic journey.
“To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful… This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking”
~ Agnes De Mille

Performance Workshops:
Open Level:
Learn the techniques of Lockin’ and Shway from one of the originators of and creators of these styles.
Taught by Joseph Malone who trained in the legendary Milton Kateselas Program, with Eric Morris and ultimately with Jane Halleran, whom he considers a mentor. He received perhaps his best acting education working with and as part of the Emmy Award winning ensemble on “The Tracey Ullman Show.”
Making sure that each actor works in every class, Joe combines instrumental exercises as well as those for the actual craft. Additionally, improvisation and scene or monologue work are a part of each of his classes.
Voice:
Taught by Deborah Shulman who has performed and taught successfully in all styles – from classical to pop, musical theater, and rock – and into the recording studio. She has been a voice teacher and vocal coach in both New York and Los Angeles, serving on the faculty of the Musical Theatre Workshop of the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera at the Music Center and the American Center for Musical Theatre in Hollywood.
Deborah’s vocal clients have included pop stars Bette Midler, Jennifer Warnes and Linda Ronstadt, and rock stars David Lee Roth and Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, among others. She has coached actors, radio personalities and public speakers. She was awarded a Platinum Record for her work on David Lee Roth’s album “Skyscraper.”
